An ultra-accurate hybrid smoothed finite element method for piezoelectric problem
An ultra-accurate hybrid smoothed finite element method (HS-FEM) is presented for the analysis of piezoelectric structures, in which the electrostatic equations governing piezoelectric problem are solved numerically with simplest triangular elements in ...

A Steerable and Expandable Magnetic Aspiration Catheter for Enhanced Aspiration Thrombectomy
This article presents a novel magnetic aspiration catheter (MAC) that can be both actively steered and undergo distal‐end expansion via externally applied magnetic fields. The MAC facilitates precise branch selection and enhances clot engagement by improving endovascular navigation and aspiration efficiency. Phantom experiments validate its feasibility

An ABAQUS Implementation of the Cell-Based Smoothed Finite Element Method (CS-FEM)
The smoothed finite element method (S-FEM) has been developed recent years and is increasingly used for stress analysis for engineering design of structures, due to its high computational accuracy and outstanding robustness in against mesh distortion ...

This paper proposes a novel control framework to ensure safety of a robotic swarm. A feedback optimization controller is capable of driving the swarm toward a target density while keeping risk‐zone exposure below a safety threshold. Theory and experiments show how safety is more effectively achieved for sparsely connected swarms.

Pre‐Curved Everting Robots With Embedded Steering Intelligence Fabricated by CO2 Laser Welding
Design and experimental demonstration of a laser welded growing robot for anatomically guided navigation. The robot follows an aortic arch phantom entering the branchiocephalic branch through steering by design. The figure shows the physical phantom setup, CAD defined weld geometry and full robot eversion.
