Transport Modeling of Edge Plasma in an m/n=1/1 Magnetic Island [PDF]
"Recent Large Helical Device experiments show that the transport modeling based only on the fluid description is not suf cient for expressing transport phenomena in/around an m=n = 1=1 magnetic island formed at the edge, and that neoclassical effect ...

Edge Effect on Resistance Scaling Rules in Graphene Nanostructures [PDF]
We report an experimental investigation of the edge effect on the room-temperature transport in graphene nanoribbon and graphene sheet (both single-layer and bilayer). By measuring the resistance scaling behaviors at both low- and high-carrier densities,

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Role of 1D edge in the elasticity and fracture of h-BN doped graphene nanoribbons
Recent achievement of BN-graphene alloy material has enabled the potential of bandgap tuning through both sub-10 nm width control and BN concentration variation.

The effectiveness of delineation treatments [PDF]
A literature review undertaken for Transit NZ has found that delineation has a significant effect on driver behaviour with, for example, shoulder rumble strips reducing run-off-theroad crashes by between 22% and 80% (average of 32% for all crashes and 44%

$\mathcal{PT}$-Symmetric Topological Edge-Gain Effect [PDF]
We demonstrate a non-Hermitian topological effect that is characterized by having complex eigenvalues only in the edge states of a topological material, despite the fact that the material is completely uniform.

α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.

European mountain grasslands are affected by abandonment and are being colonized by shrubs and forest. Grassland fragmentation is caused when the forest matrix grows, and surrounding grassland is split into fragments.

The problem of strength analysis of a multi-modulus strip, in contradiction to the existing standpoint of essential nonlinearity, may be formulated as a linear problem for a two-layer strip.
