GLOBALISATION AND THE PERPETUITY OF POVERTY IN THE CONTEMPORARY SECURITY ENVIRONMENT [PDF]
Poverty, one of the most pressing and long-standing fundamental problems of the contemporary world, claims imbalances both at the base of Maslow’s pyramid – mortality, disease, hunger or malnutrition, absence of rest, sleep or quality life, lack or ...

Regularity of Edge Ideals Via Suspension
We study the Castelnuovo–Mumford regularity of powers of edge ideals for arbitrary (finite simple) graphs. It has been repeatedly conjectured that for every graph G, reg(I(G) s )≤2s+regI(G)-2 for all s≥2, which is the best possible upper bound for any s. We prove this conjecture for every s for all bipartite graphs, and for s=2 for all graphs.

A Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller
Block Diagram of the Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller. ABSTRACT This article introduces a discrete‐time robust adaptive one‐sample‐ahead preview super‐twisting sliding mode controller. A stability analysis of the controller by Lyapunov criteria is developed to demonstrate its robustness in handling both ...

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

The k-Zero-Divisor Hypergraph of a Commutative Ring
The concept of the zero-divisor graph of a commutative ring has been studied by many authors, and the k-zero-divisor hypergraph of a commutative ring is a nice abstraction of this concept.

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Packaging of Macroscopic Material Payloads: Needs, Challenges, Concepts, and Future Directions
This review introduces a unified framework that decomposes any macroscopic packaging system into the payload, packaging material, and packaging strategy and combines them into a conceptual packaging equation: packaging strategy = payload + packaging material.
