Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

We establish an analytic low-energy theory describing higher-order topological insulator (HOTI) phases in quasicrystalline systems. We apply this to a model consisting of two stacked Haldane models with oppositely propagating edge modes, analogous to the

Three-dimensional edge waves in plates [PDF]
This paper describes the propagation of three-dimensional symmetric waves localized near the traction-free edge of a semi-infinite elastic plate with either traction-free or fixed faces.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Spatiotemporal forecasting of the edge localized modes in tokamak plasmas using neural networks
Artificial intelligence techniques have been increasingly adopted by the plasma and fusion science to address problems like plasma reconstruction, surrogate modeling, and tokamak/stellarator optimization.

Localized modes in defective multilayer structures
In this paper, the localized surface modes in a defective multilayer structure has been investigated. It is shown that the defective multilayer structures can support two different kind of localized modes depending on the position and the thickness of ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Witnessing edge modes in trimerized circuit quantum electrodynamic lattice
We propose a scheme to investigate and witness edge modes of general one-dimensional photonic trimers in a circuit quantum electrodynamic lattice. These in-gap edge modes are strictly and analytically solved and the criteria for their emergence are ...

Topological bands and localized vibration modes in quasiperiodic beams
We investigate a family of quasiperiodic continuous elastic beams, the topological properties of their vibrational spectra, and their relation to the existence of localized modes.
