Study of edge radius effects in mechanical micro-machining
International Journal of Precision Technology, 2012In mechanical micro–machining, the feature size ranges from tens of micrometres to less than a millimetre in size. At this level of cutting, the tool cannot be considered as a sharp tool, as the uncut chip thickness is comparable to the tool edge radius.

Materials for small radius leading edges for hypersonic vehicles.
Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 1967Symmetrical wedge models of sharp leading edges were fabricated from candidate refractory materials and tested in a 10-Mw-arc-heated, freejet facility producing nominal plenum conditions of 380 psia and 5500 °F. Experiments were first conducted with specially developed temperature probes to determine heat-transfer coefficients and recovery temperature ...

Maximal Spectral Radius of Minimally k‐(Edge)‐Connected Graphs
Journal of Graph TheoryABSTRACTMinimally ‐connected graphs are the main focus of both structural and extremal graph theory. Perhaps the most heavily investigated parameter of this graph family is the number of vertices of degree . Mader proved a tight lower bound for , independent of , and the order .

The obstacle radius of a pile-up of edge dislocations
Philosophical Magazine, 1971Abstract A numerical calculation is described which determines the blocking radius of a pile-up of negative edge dislocations to a group of either negative or positive edge dislocations with the same Burgers vector. The results are used to calculate the work-hardening rate in stage II of face-centred-cubic single crystals in the theory of Hirsch and ...

On the radius-edge condition in the control volume method
1996Abstract: "In this paper we show that the control volume algorithm for the solution of Poisson's equation in three dimensions will converge when the mesh contains very flat tetrahedra (slivers). These tetrahedra are characterized by the fact that they have modest ratios of diameter to shortest edge, but large circum to inscribed sphere radius ratios ...
