Bromination Reactivity of Oxygen-Terminated Edges of Graphene

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2021
The bromination reactivity of various types of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) with oxygen atoms and graphene with oxygen atoms was estimated by density functional theory calculation and experimentally clarified by analyzing bromination of PAHs using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry.

Robust subgap edge conduction in bilayer graphene with disordered edge termination

Physical Review B, 2020
The subgap transport in electrostatically gapped bilayer graphene (BLG) is explored by adopting ultrashort constrictions of BLG. We confirmed the emergence of the edge conducting channels, with a residual conductance of $\ensuremath{\sim}2{e}^{2}/h$ per edge of realistic disorder.

Universal trench edge termination design

2012 24th International Symposium on Power Semiconductor Devices and ICs, 2012
The minimum edge termination length for various trench structure is theoretically determined to obtain universal curve for efficient design under considering trade-off relation with trench fabrication difficulty, cost and limitation specially for thin wafer IGBTs and diodes.

Computational analysis of geometric structures and edge‐termination effects of boron‐nitride and edge‐termination boron‐nitride nanoribbons

Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society, 2023
AbstractIn this work, we examined geometry, electronic structure, and edged termination effect of boron‐nitride nanoribbons (BNNRs) by employing localized Gaussian‐type orbital, periodic‐boundary condition, density functional theory (LGTO‐PBC‐DFT) calculations.

1D metallic edge states of oxygen-terminated zigzag graphene edges

2D Materials, 2019
The honeycomb lattice of graphene exhibits a chiral symmetry that guarantees a Dirac point where linearly dispersing bands crosses with zero density of states. Enhanced functionalities such as metallicity and semi-conductivity are predicted by breaking the chiral symmetry in graphene zigzag nanoribbons and the selective chemical functionalization of ...

A Three-Terminal Edge-Triggered Mott Switch

2018 76th Device Research Conference (DRC), 2018
We demonstrate a novel $\mathrm{VO}_{2}-\mathrm{based}$ edge-triggered (ET) three-terminal Mott switch that leverages the displacement current induced by the switching of the gate voltage pulse to trigger an IMT in the $\mathrm{VO}_{2}$ channel. The design overcomes a long-standing challenge of realizing a three-terminal $\mathrm{VO}_{2}$ switch ...
