Pyrrolo[3,4‐b]pyridin‐5‐ones are assembled in one pot manner through an Ugi‐Zhu reaction coupled to a cascade sequence (aza Diels‐Alder/N‐acylation/decarboxylation/dehydration). Pyrrolo[3,4‐b]pyridin‐5‐ones are fluorescence probes for local viscosity, polarity, protic environments, and solid‐state emission.

Overview of the antileukemic effects of Piper nigrum extract in AML. P. nigrum reduced leukemic cell proliferation and glycolytic metabolism through modulation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. In vivo, treatment reduced leukemic burden, improved hematological parameters, prolonged survival, and modulated antitumor immune responses.
