Generation of a transgene-free induced pluripotent stem cells line (UNIPDi002-A) from oral mucosa epithelial stem cells carrying the R304Q mutation in TP63 gene

open access: yesStem Cell Research, 2018
Transgene free UNIPDi002-A-human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC) line was generated by Sendai Virus Vectors reprogramming from human oral mucosal epithelial stem cells (hOMESCs) of a patient affected by ectrodactyly-ectodermal dysplasia-clefting ...

Ectrodactyly-ectodermal dysplasia-clefting syndrome (EEC): report of a case with perioral papillomatosis

open access: yes, 2002
We report a 13-year-old boy with ectodermal dysplasia, ectrodactyly, and syndactyly, hypospadias, photophobia, conductive hearing loss, and perioral papillomatosis. His father had ectrodactyly and hypotrichosis.

Self‐Assembled Skin Equivalents with Monoclonal CRISPR/Cas9‐Modified N/TERT‐1 Keratinocytes: A Cutting‐Edge model for Human Skin and its Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled, scaffold‐free full‐thickness skin equivalents with monoclonal, genetically modified N/TERT‐1 keratinocytes represent a novel in vitro model of human skin and skin diseases. The model is highly robust, reproducible, physiologically relevant, and suitable for high‐throughput applications.

Functional Mapping of Neurodevelopmental Disease Pathways to Key Neurodevelopmental Processes Represented in the Developmental Neurotoxicity In Vitro Testing Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human‐relevant methods are essential for modern chemical safety assessment. This study helps define the capabilities and boundaries of an in vitro testing battery for developmental neurotoxicity by exploring its biological applicability domain. By linking neurodevelopmental disease‐related pathways to key neurodevelopmental processes, the work enhances

Synchrotron XRF Imaging Reveals Manganese Accumulation in the Golgi and Post‐Synapses of Neurons and Enhanced Uptake in Astrocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Despite widespread exposure, the mechanisms of manganese neurotoxicity remain poorly understood. Using correlative cryogenic fluorescence and synchrotron X‐ray fluorescence imaging techniques, we show that the Golgi apparatus is the primary accumulation site for manganese in both neurons and astrocytes, and that manganese targets the neuronal ...

Macrophage Extracellular Traps in Immunity and Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
As a macrophage‐mediated innate defense mechanism, the dysregulated release of METs drives chronic inflammation and influences tumor progression. Furthermore, METs exhibit a functional duality within the tumor microenvironment, capable of both promoting and suppressing tumor development.

EEC syndrome--a case report.

open access: yesJournal of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, 2004
EEC syndrome is a multiple congenital anomaly syndrome characterized by ectodermal dysplasia, distal limb anomaly, cleft lip and palate and ocular adnexia anomalies. A case report of a 10 year old female patient with EEC is presented and it is emphasised that management of these cases requires a multidisciplinary approach.

Engineering Approaches to Modify Immunomodulatory Functions of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs): Tissue Regeneration and Clinical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,

Nanomedicine Meets Immunotherapy: Advancing Adoptive Cell Therapy with Nanoparticles in the Treatment of Cancer with Sustainability Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review surveys nanoparticle‐based strategies to enhance adoptive cell therapy, particularly CAR‐T cell approaches, in solid tumor treatment. It describes how nanoparticles can improve tumor immunogenicity and T‐cell infiltration while reducing toxicity, and how they enable in vivo CAR‐T cell generation.
