A simplified method of evaluating dose-effect experiments.

Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, 1948
1. A rapid graphic method for approximating the Median Effective Dose and the Slope of dose-per cent effect curves is presented. Confidence limits of both of these parameters for 19/20 probability are given by the method.

Fixed Effects and Random Effects

2008
One of the major benefits from using panel data as compared to cross-section data on individuals is that it enables us to control for individual heterogeneity. Not controlling for these unobserved individual specific effects leads to bias in the resulting estimates.
