The effect of angular momentum coupling on the angular distribution of fission fragments

Zeitschrift fr Physik A Atomic Nuclei, 1990
We examine what information can be obtained from fission angular distributions through precise measurements and an analysis in terms of the simple statistical model of Ericson. We report on the systematics of the decoupling angle and present the role of the angular momentum coupling between the entrance and the exit channel.

Angular momentum effects in heavy-ion-induced fission

Physical Review C, 1992
We analyze angular momentum effects in heavy-ion-induced fission in terms of the statistical model, including collective effects in the nonadiabatic approach and avoiding all the usual numerical approximations and free parameters but one. We find that the strong increase of the fission probability along with the increasing compound nucleus spin is ...

Angular Momentum Effect on Neutron Evaporation

Progress of Theoretical Physics, 1962
An expression is given for the number of neutrons that can be emitted from a nucleus of spin I and energy Ex. Using this expression, the number of neutrons emitted by a compound nucleus formed in the collision of two nuclei is calculated. Calculations are shown, within the framework of several models, of the number of neutrons emitted in the collisions

Strong Angular Momentum Effects in Near-Barrier Fusion Reactions

Physical Review Letters, 1985
While Japan was firmly established in the 8O's as a world economy giant, its fame was to be renewed after the early 90's crisis. Measuring the westernization impact of the current Japanese society, this paper presents new grids of corporate and behaviour readibilty through an approach deliberately inherited from communication science and cultural ...

Angular momentum effects in neutron evaporation

Nuclear Physics, 1964
Abstract The statistical model of nuclear reactions has been used to calculate the effects of angular momentum on the evaporation of neutrons. The systems considered are Po 210 with excitation energy of 24 MeV and angular momenta up to 26 ħ; At 209 with excitation energy of 95 MeV and angular momenta up to 68.5 ħ; Mn 55 with excitation energy of ...

Angular-momentum effects in atom-atom scattering

Physical Review A, 1981
Physical effects associated with change in angular momentum (in particular, $s\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p$ transitions) caused by collision-induced excitation at a level crossing in kilovolt-energy ion-atom or atom-atom scattering are investigated. The component of angular momentum involved in this effect is that perpendicular to the plane of collision ...

Angular Momentum Effects in Star Formation

1991
The star formation era is a period during which rotational effects are of crucial importance in determining the evolution of the star. Also, during this period, significant redistribution of angular momentum must occur in the star, as indicated by the substantial discrepancy between deduced angular momenta in star formation sites in the cores of ...

Angular momentum effects on the decay of compound nuclei

Nuclear Physics, 1964
Abstract Data are presented on the energy distribution of emitted particles from the Rh103(α,α′), Rh103(α,p) and Mo92(α,p) reactions. Data from these and other experiments for particles expected to arise from compound nucleus formation and decay have been subjected to analysis via the compound-statistical model for nuclear reactions. The calculations

Quenching of magnetic transitions as an angular momentum effect

Nuclear Physics A, 1985
Abstract We investigate how the mechanisms of nuclear excitations and mesonic currents traditionally invoked to explain the quenching of low multipole magnetic transitions apply to higher spin operators. We find that there is a significant quenching of the low multipolarity spin-isospin operators by Δ-hole polarization, but that this effect decreases
