Theoretical analysis of the effect of isotropy on the effective diffusion coefficient in the porous and agglomerated phase of the electrodes of a PEMFC [PDF]
In polymer membrane fuel cells (PEMFC), the pore microstructure and the effective diffusion coefficient ( $$D_{eff}$$ D eff ) of the catalytic layer have a significant impact on the overall performance of the fuel cell. In this work, numerical methods to

Water Effective Diffusion Coefficient in Dairy Powder Calculated by Digital Image Processing and through Machine Learning Algorithms of CLSM Micrographs [PDF]
Rehydration of dairy powders is a complex and essential process. A relatively new quantitative mechanism for monitoring powders’ rehydration process uses the effective diffusion coefficient.

Evaluating the effective diffusion coefficient of reactant gas in the catalyst layer of PEMFC using the fractal method considering the pore size distribution [PDF]
The pore size distribution of the catalyst layer (CL) significantly influences the effective diffusion coefficient (EDC) of the reactant gas due to the Knudsen diffusion effect in the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC).

Impact of Pore Geometry and Water Saturation on Gas Effective Diffusion Coefficient in Soil [PDF]
Gas flow in soil plays a crucial role in terrestrial ecosystems, and numerical simulation of their movement needs to know their effective diffusion coefficients.

Effective diffusion coefficients in reaction-diffusion systems with anomalous transport [PDF]
We show that the Turing patterns in reaction systems with subdiffusion can be replicated in an effective system with Markovian cross-diffusion. The effective system has the same Turing instability as the original system, and the same patterns. If particles are short-lived, the transient dynamics are captured as well.

Effective diffusion coefficient including the Marangoni effect [PDF]
Surface-active molecules supplied from a particle fixed at the water surface create a spatial gradient of the molecule concentration, resulting in Marangoni convection. Convective flow transports the molecules far from the particle, enhancing diffusion.

Estimation of Effective Diffusion Coefficient of O2 in Ash Layer in Underground Coal Gasification by Thermogravimetric Apparatus [PDF]
Underground coal gasification (UCG) proceeds generally in the presence of an ash layer on coal (or char) surface. The ash layer increases the mass transfer resistance of O2 to the gasification surface, which may become the limiting step of whole process.

Modelling effective diffusion for accurate NMR pore size analysis in nano- and microporous rocks [PDF]
Low-field NMR (LF-NMR) is a widely applied technique for evaluating pore size distribution (PSD) in porous materials. Conventional approaches typically assume surface-controlled spin-spin relaxation and negligible diffusion contributions under the fast ...

Determining the effective hydrogen diffusion coefficient in 100Cr6 [PDF]
AbstractIn the present study, the diffusion constant for hydrogen in hardened 100Cr6 was measured in permeation tests. The tests were conducted on samples of different thicknesses. The diffusivity of hydrogen was also measured in prestrained samples to study the influence of plastic strain on the diffusion rate.
