Effective Discharge Planning

2012
Discharge planning is the process of evaluating and planning for the patient’s needs postdischarge. The effective discharge plan begins with the first encounter in the ED regardless of the final disposition of the patient and must be evaluated throughout the treatment period. The needs of the patient and their caregivers must be evaluated.

The Effect of Submarine Groundwater Discharge on the Ocean

Annual Review of Marine Science, 2010
The exchange of groundwater between land and sea is a major component of the hydrological cycle. This exchange, called submarine groundwater discharge (SGD), is comprised of terrestrial water mixed with sea water that has infiltrated coastal aquifers. The composition of SGD differs from that predicted by simple mixing because biogeochemical reactions ...

Effect of Roughness and Discharge

1992
Up to now, smooth channels were considered, except for some isolated elements such as steps or blocks. If roughness elements are spread all over the space where the jump occurs, reference may be made to a hydraulic jump in a rough channel. Clearly, there is some similarity to jumps forced by blocks. Therefore, the ‘rough jump’ is treated here.

Hospital Effects of Maternity Early Discharge

Medical Care, 1984
Although the programs are of increasing popularity, little has been published on the effects of discharging maternity patients early from the hospital. In particular, there is almost no evidence to date to prove that these programs actually achieve two objectives for which they were designed; to reduce occupancy pressure on maternity beds and to lower ...

A model for battery pulsed discharge with recovery effect

WCNC. 1999 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (Cat. No.99TH8466), 2003
This paper introduces a stochastic model of battery behavior, that emulates electrochemical mechanisms that are key to battery performance under pulsed discharge conditions. A pulsed discharge allows charge recovery during the idle periods. Recovery depends on the state of charge of the battery and on the duration of the rest time period.

Effects of discharge cloud interaction on the structure and spectrum of a pulsed discharge

Journal of Applied Spectroscopy, 1966
Two supersonic jets interact to produce a dense plasma, which has marked effects on the structure and spectrum. Flow from the dense region produces marked radial inhomogeneity. The emission spectrum of the dense zone consists of a strong continuum together with asymmetrically broadened lines of the elements present in the electrodes.
