Simultaneous Measurement of Glomerular Filtration Rate, Effective Renal Plasma Flow and Tubular Secretion in Different Poultry Species by Single Intravenous Bolus of Iohexol and Para-Aminohippuric Acid [PDF]
The aim of the current study was to investigate the simultaneous measurement of plasma p-aminohippuric acid (PAH) clearance as a potential marker to assess effective renal plasma flow (eRPF) and tubular secretion (TS), and the plasma clearance of iohexol

Assessing the kidney function parameters glomerular filtration rate and effective renal plasma flow with dynamic FDG-PET/MRI in healthy subjects [PDF]
Background A method was developed to assess the kidney parameters glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and effective renal plasma flow (ERPF) from 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-d-glucose (FDG) concentration behavior in kidneys, measured with positron emission ...

Measurement of effective renal plasma flow using model analysis of dynamic CT in the preoperative evaluation of the renal transplant donors [PDF]
Objectives: Renal scintigraphy is widely used to evaluate residual function of a transplanted kidney from the donor. Dynamic computed tomography (CT) imaging can evaluate both kidney morphology and regional renal function.

The effect of nisoldipine on apparent liver blood flow and effective renal plasma flow. [PDF]
The effects of the acute and continued administration of the calcium antagonist nisoldipine on hepatic and renal blood flow and on renal function were studied in nine normotensive volunteers. There were no significant changes in supine blood pressure or heart rate but acute administration significantly increased both apparent liver blood flow and ...

Predicting Pharmacokinetics of Drugs in Patients with Heart Failure and Optimizing Their Dosing Strategies Using a Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic Model [PDF]
Background: Heart failure (HF), as the end stage of various cardiac diseases, alters blood flow to key organs responsible for drug clearance. This can lead to unpredictable and often suboptimal drug exposure, creating a critical need for quantitative ...

It is not only fluids: the impact of hydration protocols used for the prevention of contrast nephropathy on renal oxygenation [PDF]
Fluid administration is the mainstay intervention effective in the prevention of radiocontrast-associated nephropathy (CAN) in high-risk patients. Vigorous hydration shortens intratubular solute transit-time and reduces tubular intraluminal concentration

EFFECT OF DROPERIDOL ON DOPAMINE-INDUCED INCREASE IN EFFECTIVE RENAL PLASMA FLOW IN DOGS
The interaction between small doses of dopamine and droperidol on effective renal plasma flow was studied in dogs. Small doses of dopamine are known to produce renal vasodilatation by a dopaminergic mechanism and droperidol, a selective dopamine antagonist used in neuroleptanaesthesia, may attenuate this response.

Impact of Renal Stone Clearance in Patients of Chronic Kidney Disease: A Prospective Observational Study from a Tertiary Care Centre [PDF]
Introduction: Varying degrees of renal insufficiency is associated with renal stone disease. The incidence of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in renal stone is around 0.8 to 17.5%.
