Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

177Lu-DOTATATE peptide receptor radionuclide therapy in patients with borderline low and discordant renal parameters: Treatment feasibility assessment by sequential estimation of triple parameters and filtration fraction

open access: yesWorld Journal of Nuclear Medicine, 2018
The aim was to assess the effect of standard fixed-dose protocol of 177Lu-DOTATATE peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) in patients with borderline low renal function of one parameter (glomerular filtration rate [GFR], effective renal plasma flow

Systemic ASBT inactivation protects against liver damage in obstructive cholestasis in mice

open access: yesJHEP Reports, 2022
Background & Aims: Non-absorbable inhibitors of the apical sodium-dependent bile acid transporter (ASBT; also called ileal bile acid transporter [IBAT]) are recently approved or in clinical development for multiple cholestatic liver disorders and ...

Clinical Significance of Therapeutic Drug Level Monitoring for Mycophenolate in Patients with Extra‐Renal Systemic Lupus Erythematosus – A Systematic Review & Meta‐analysis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Background Clinical response to Mycophenolic acid (MPA) is highly heterogeneous; thus, therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) may help improve treatment efficacy. This systematic review and meta‐analysis examined therapeutic ranges for MPA levels associated with better outcomes and safety in patients with SLE, particularly those with extra‐renal ...

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2025.
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

Expanding Chemical Space of Nucleic Acid Nanoparticles for Tunable Antiviral‐Like Immunomodulatory Responses and Potent Adjuvant Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a nucleic acid nanoparticle (NANP) platform designed to be rrecognized by the human innate immune system in a regulated manner. By changing chemical composition while maintaining constant architectural parameters, we identify key determinants of immunorecognition enabling the rational design of NANPs with tunable immune activation profiles

AT1 receptor blocker, but not an ACE inhibitor, prevents kidneys from hypoperfusion during congestive heart failure in normotensive and hypertensive rats

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
To provide novel insights into the pathogenesis of heart failure-induced renal dysfunction, we compared the effects of ACE inhibitor (ACEi) and AT1 receptor blocker (ARB) on systemic and kidney hemodynamics during heart failure in normotensive HanSD and ...

Drug‐Free Thrombolysis Mediated by Physically Activated Micro/Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Overview of particle‐mediated thrombolytic effects (thermal, mechanical, and chemical) and their activating physical stimuli (light, ultrasound, and magnetic field) in drug‐free thrombolysis. ABSTRACT Thrombus‐associated disorders rank among the world's leading causes of death, with ischemic heart disease and stroke as the main contributors.

A quinazoline derivative suppresses B cell hyper-activation and ameliorates the severity of systemic lupus erythematosus in mice

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2023
Background: Aberrant autoreactive B cell responses contribute to the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Currently, there is no safe and effective drug for intervention of SLE.
