Effects of Halothane, Enflurane, and Isoflurane Anaesthesia on Renal Plasma Flow
Effective renal plasma flow (ERPF) and linear cardiac output (aortic blood velocity) were measured in 15 patients who received halothane, enflurane or isoflurane in oxygen. All three agents caused a significant reduction in ERPF (P less than 0.05) and the effect was greater at 1.25 MAC than at 0.75 MAC.

Effective renal plasma flow (ERPF) was evaluated, using the measurement of p-aminohippurate clearance (CLPAH) and quantitative renal scintigraphy (QRS) with 99mTc-mercaptoacetyltriglycine (99mTc-MAG3). The CLPAH and QRS determinations were made in 6 dogs:

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Renal perfusion evaluation with contrast-enhanced ultrasonography [PDF]
Background. Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) is a novel imaging technique that is safe and applicable on the bedside. Recent developments seem to enable CEUS to quantify organ perfusion.

Microfluidic electro‐viscoelastic manipulation of extracellular vesicles
The electro‐viscoelastic manipulation as a potential method for separation of particles based on size. The particles introduced as a sheath flow migrate to the channel center under the influence of simultaneously applied electric field and pressure driven flow.

Immunodepletion in xenotransplantation [PDF]
Xenograft transplantation is perhaps the most immunologically difficult problem in transplantation today. An overwhelming hyperacute rejection reaction (HAR) occurs within minutes of organ implantation.

Induction of diabetes in three different mouse strains uniformly resulted in an increase in TNAP activity and a reduction in pyrophosphate (PPi) in the circulation. Inhibition of TNAP restored plasma PPi. Diabetes‐induced calcification in the media layer of the aorta was detected only in the Abcc6−/− strain, which is predisposed to ectopic ...
