Sorting efficiency

Journal of Clinical Monitoring, 1987
Computers and the tasks they perform are becoming increasingly important in medicine. It behooves medical personnel to become familiar with some computer functions so that they may be in a better position to demand and evaluate a given implementation. One very basic computer task is sorting information.

Photosynthetic efficiency

Radiation and Environmental Biophysics, 1986
The efficiency of photosynthesis is discussed in analogy to the solar cell. The total efficiency eta can be written as a product of factors eta i concerning different loss processes. The fraction of photon energy hv which is available for photosynthesis in the membrane, usually called the thermodynamic efficiency eta th, is calculated.

Efficient Auctions

The Quarterly Journal of Economics, 2000
An auction is efficient if, at game equilibrium, the bidder with the highest valuation wins the item on the block. For private values, it is well known that a Vickrey auction is efficient. For common values, a Vickrey auction may no longer be efficient. The main result of this paper gives sufficient conditions under which a Vickrey auction is efficient

Gtl Efficiency

International Petroleum Technology Conference, 2014
Abstract A number of key parameters have been used for defining the efficiency of GTL (Gas-to-Liquids) process. The most commonly used bases are Carbon Efficiency (CE) and Thermal Efficiency (TE). This paper discusses the definition of each of them and the significant developments that have occurred and have been ...

Memory Efficiency

Journal of the ACM, 1959
Memory is the heart of today's electronic computers—memory serving as a fast-access storage unit and also being used in the execution of computer commands. The problem of memory efficiency, therefore, is one of great importance. Complete efficiency has not yet been attained and research to achieve it has been up to now rather limited.
