Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Efficiency of conformalized ridge regression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Conformal prediction is a method of producing prediction sets that can be applied on top of a wide range of prediction algorithms. The method has a guaranteed coverage probability under the standard IID assumption regardless of whether the assumptions ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Impact of Electric Vehicles Consumption on Energy Efficient and Self-Sufficient Performance in Building: A Case Study in the Brazilian Amazon Region

open access: yesEnergies
The growth of electric vehicles (EVs) and their integration into existing and future buildings bring new considerations for energy efficiency (EE) and balance when combined with renewable energy.

Efficiency in Subsampling

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1974
An analysis of the behavior of the $\operatorname{cdf}$ randomly determined by the subsample means yields results on the asymptotic relative efficiency and consistency of Hartigan's subsampling procedure. Examination of higher order approximation to the normal is carried out in two special cases.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by
