Stoke's efficiency of temporally rocked ratchets [PDF]
We study the generalized efficiency of an adiabatically rocked ratchet with both spatial and temporal asymmetry. We obtain an analytical expression for the generalized efficiency in the deterministic case. Generalized efficiency of the order of 50% is obtained by fine tuning of the parameter range.

This title is intended to describe the much-neglected field of the economic side of ward nursing, especially in the larger hospitals. Recent magazines are filled with articles discussing "efficiency" in laying bricks or handling tools, and "get-together" principles are the order of the day, but one looks in vain for any serious discussion of the ...

The number of circulating tumor cells obtained from prostate cancer patients was increased approximately 5‐fold compared to regular CellSearch when processing 2 mL diagnostic leukapheresis material aliquots and increased by 44‐fold when processing 20 mL DLA aliquots using the flow enrichment target capture Halbach‐array.

Continuous models combining slacks-based measures of efficiency and super-efficiency [PDF]
In the framework of data envelopment analysis (DEA), Tone (2001) introduced the slacks-based measure (SBM) of efficiency, which is a nonradial model that incorporates all the slacks of the evaluated decision-making units (DMUs) into their efficiency scores, unlike classical radial efficiency models.

Efficiently learning efficient programs
Discovering efficient algorithms is central to computer science. In this thesis, we aim to discover efficient programs (algorithms) using machine learning. Specifically, we claim we can efficiently learn programs (Claim 1), and learn efficient programs (Claim 2).

Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...
