ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Efficient top-k string similarity query algorithms

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2014
Computing top-k similar strings based on edit distance,i.e.,given a query string σ and string set S,finding k similar strings to σ based on edit distance from S.Firstly, two adaptive filter strategies based on length-skip index are proposed, such that to ...

Efficient Implementation of Nested-Loop Multimedia Algorithms

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2001
A novel dependence graph representation called the multiple-order dependence graph for nested-loop formulated multimedia signal processing algorithms is proposed. It allows a concise representation of an entire family of dependence graphs. This powerful

Efficient Algorithms for Flexible Sweep Coverage in Crowdsensing

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Sweep coverage is an important covering technique in mobile crowdsensing, in which users or participants are employed to periodically monitor a set of points of interest (POIs) each with a weight indicating the value of its information to be collected ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Efficient Substructure RMSD Query Algorithms [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Computational Biology, 2007
Protein structure analysis is a very important research topic in the molecular biology of the post-genomic era. The root mean square deviation (RMSD) is the most frequently used measure for comparing two protein three-dimensional (3-D) structures. In this paper, we deal with two fundamental problems related to the RMSD.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Enhancing the Efficiency of Routing Strategies in WSNs Using Live Streaming Algorithms

open access: yesJournal of Techniques
The application of machine learning in wireless sensor networks (WSN) has attracted much attention. Since references in WSNs are pre-defined, determining how to optimize the utilization of resources and achieve efficient load balancing has become a ...
