Efficient XML Interchange for rich internet applications
The tremendous acceptance of web applications, or more specifically, rich media applications are about to be extended to embedded devices such as mobile phones, digital picture frames or TV sets. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is one important pillar when we deal with such internet applications. XML is known as the interchange language of the web.

Why use Efficient XML Interchange instead of Fast Infoset
The Extensible Markup Language (XML) has been acknowledging as the defacto standard for data exchange over the web and data representation. But on the other hand its main drawback that of being huge in size. The huge document size means that the amount of information has to be stored, transmitted, and queried is often larger than that of other data ...

Real-time capable hardware-based parser for efficient XML interchange
The use of Extensible Markup Language (XML) for data interchange became standard in most computer systems. The benefits of XML documents are their easy handling, dynamic adjustment to nearly all needs, availability of parsers for any programming language, and the human readability.

Efficient XML interchange for automated demand response in smart grid networks
In this paper, we showed the decrease in network delay by using efficient XML interchange (EXI) instead of XML in open automated demand response 2.0 (openADR). Due to large number of devices on the smart grid, when we are dealing with a network constrained systems, the extra file size of XML can be the cause of delay in the system.

Due to its flexibility and extensive tool support, XML is an obvious choice for a generic data exchange format. However, the verbosity and processing overhead of textual XML impedes its use in resource-restricted embedded networks. These disadvantages have been addressed by the introduction of binary representations of the XML Infoset such as W3C’s ...
