Flow‐Induced Vascular Remodeling on‐Chip: Implications for Anti‐VEGF Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Flow‐induced vascular remodeling plays a critical role in network stabilization and function. Using a vasculature‐on‐chip system, this study reveals how physiological VEGF levels and flow affect vascular remodeling and provides insights into tumor vessel normalization.

Diagnostic role of complete blood count in pleural effusions

open access: yesMedicine Science, 2021
Pleural effusion (PE) can be seen during the course and treatment of many malignant or benign diseases. Congestive heart failure and pneumonia are the most common causes of benign pleural effusion (BPE), while lung and breast cancer are the most common ...

Can the frequency-dependent specific heat be measured by thermal effusion methods?

open access: yes, 2007
It has recently been shown that plane-plate heat effusion methods devised for wide-frequency specific-heat spectroscopy do not give the isobaric specific heat, but rather the so-called longitudinal specific heat.

Stochastic Efficiency for Effusion as a Thermal Engine

open access: yes, 2014
The stochastic efficiency of effusion as a thermal engine is investigated within the framework of stochastic thermodynamics. Explicit results are obtained for the probability distribution of the efficiency both at finite times and in the asymptotic ...
