Egg Parasitoids Commercialization in the New World
2009This chapter deals with the commercialization of egg parasitoid species that attack crop pests in the New World. It is discussed the current status of the worldwide commercialization of natural enemies in the U.S.A. and Europe, and with more details in the New World, including Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, Ecuador, Venezuela and Peru. The reasons for

Reproduction and Immature Development of Egg Parasitoids
2009In this chapter I review the recent advances on egg parasitoids reproduction and immature development. Sperm production in adult male parasitoids varies depending on the status of their testes at emergence and these differences in sperm production are described by the spermatogeny index. Polygyny is common in Hymenoptera parasitoids and males that mate

In Sicily, field collections of egg masses of the southern green stink bug, Nezara viridula (L.) (Heteroptera:Pentatomidae), revealed that two solitary parasitoids, Trissolcus basalis (Wollaston) (Hymenoptera: Platygastridae) and Ooencyrtus telenomicida (Vassiliev) (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae), can exploit the same egg mass.
