Research note: Proteomics profiling reveal key proteins in egg white emulsification
Egg white proteins are widely recognized as excellent natural emulsifiers, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying their emulsification properties remain incompletely understood, particularly regarding the roles of individual proteins in complex natural ...

The timing of the formation and usage of replicase clusters in S-phase nuclei of human diploid fibroblasts [PDF]
The sites of nascent DNA synthesis were compared with the distribution of the proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in S-phase nuclei of human diploid fibroblasts (HDF) by two in vitro techniques.

Ubiquitin‐mediated selective autophagy plays a critical role in antiviral innate immunity. The study shows that upon RNA virus infection, cytoplasmic API5 undergoes SRPK1‐dependent phosphorylation at S464, which in turn suppresses p62 K141 ubiquitination‐dependent autophagy.

Ovarian cancer patients with high levels of mortalin protein in their tumors have worse survival. The investigational drug SHetA2 interferes with mortalin's support of mitochondria. The resulting mitochondrial damage causes a process called mitophagy that contributes to how SHetA2 kills cancer cells. Noncancerous cells repair their mitochondria through

Manipulating Unisexual–Sexual Reproduction Transition to Engineer Genome‐Reconstructed Polyploids
This study developed an efficient approach to generate genome‐reconstructed polyploids involving unisexual gynogenetic Carassius gibelio, sexual C. auratus, and sexual C. cuvieri. The selected superior clone inherited gynogenesis ability of C. gibelio and herpesvirus resistance of wild C.

\u3cem\u3eDrosophila\u3c/em\u3e Vitelline Membrane Assembly: A Critical Role for an Evolutionarily Conserved Cysteine in the “VM domain” of sV23 [PDF]
The vitelline membrane (VM), the oocyte proximal layer of the Drosophila eggshell, contains four major proteins (VMPs) that possess a highly conserved “VM domain” which includes three precisely spaced, evolutionarily conserved, cysteines (CX7CX8C ...

This study investigates a highly multivalent mAb platform fusing Laminin‐511 heterotrimerization domains with Fabs and IgG1‐Fc as a non‐hormonal contraceptive. The most potent molecule ‘LamH10’, possessing 10 Fabs, rapidly achieved >99% reduction in progressively motile sperm at just 33µg per dose in sheep, making the laminin‐IgG hybrid platform the ...
