A Comprehensive Review of Waste‐Derived Materials for Solar Still Performance Enhancement

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Solar desalination reduces energy use and produces freshwater sustainably, but its productivity is limited and cannot meet rising demand. Thus, solar desalination system improvements are sought to boost water productivity. Waste materials are abundantly available and burden the environment, making them low‐cost enhancers for solar desalination

Graman Revisited Once Again: A Reanalysis of the Late Holocene Legacy Faunal Assemblage From GB4 Rockshelter, New South Wales

open access: yesArchaeology in Oceania, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The archaeological site Graman B4 provided one of the first records of substantial dietary change in ancient Australian Aboriginal society. Initial examination of the faunal remains from this site suggested that Late Holocene hunters reduced their focus on high‐ranked kangaroos to increasingly rely on arboreal possums; and that these ...

Heat Stress and Gut Microbiome Dynamics in Poultry: Interplay, Consequences, and Mitigation Strategies

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Heat stress disrupts gut microbial balance in poultry, impairing nutrient absorption and immunity. This review outlines the interplay between thermal stress and microbiome dynamics and discusses integrative mitigation strategies, probiotics, phytogenics, cooling systems, and genetic adaptation to enhance poultry resilience.

Global variation and uniformity of eggshell thickness for chicken eggs

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2012
Damaged eggshells result in losses of eggs. Numerous efforts have been carried out to improve eggshell quality, which may lead to increased eggshell thickness. The conventional way of enhancing eggshell strength with thicker eggshell on average may be replaced by a new strategy to improve eggshell uniformity without increasing eggshell thickness.
