Dietary sodium sulfate supplementation improves eggshell quality, uterine ion transportation and glycosaminoglycan synthesis in laying hens [PDF]
Objective This study evaluated the effects of dietary sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) supplementation on eggshell quality, uterine ion transportation, and glycosaminoglycan (GAG) synthesis. Methods A total of 432 48-wk-old Hy-line Brown laying hens were randomly

This study investigates the influence of waste eggshell powder on the water absorption and mechanical properties of jute fiber‐reinforced epoxy composites. Optimal eggshell filler content (2 wt%) significantly enhances composite performance by reducing water absorption and improving mechanical properties.

Spectromicroscopy Analysis of Chicken Egg Shells
ABSTRACT Chicken egg shells, taken from farm and backyard eggs of different suppliers from different regions in Brazil were collected for chemical/structural analysis, in order to try to find if there is a relation between egg shells composition and the type of production (farm or backyard), the egg shell color and the region of production.

ABSTRACT In 2019, the Dadan Archaeological Project (CNRS/RCU/AFALULA) identified a Late Antique village 1 km south of ancient Dadan in the al‐ʿUlā valley (northwest Saudi Arabia). Three excavation seasons at this site (2021–2023) have uncovered a massive building constructed in the late third or early fourth cent.

Is the Eggshell Quality Influenced by the Egg Weight or the Breeder Age?
For a long time, it has been said that eggshell quality decreases as eggs increase in size, but this increase is seen as the breeder age advances. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the age and egg weight effect on Cobb 500 broiler breeders ...

Managing the Threat of Subsidized Predators for a Threatened Shorebird
Subsidized predators—native predators that have become more common due to human activities—challenge the persistence of many at‐risk prey species and require creative solutions beyond lethal predator control. In an 8‐year study, we placed small wire cages over western snowy plover nests that allow passage of plovers, but not their predators, and ...

Development of the abdominal musculature in the chicken embryo
In this study, we investigate anatomy, morphogenesis, segmental origin, and fiber formation of the abdominal musculature in the chicken embryo. We show that abdominal muscles arise from somites 24 to 28, and that the segmental identity of individual fibers in the abdominal muscle sheets is maintained.

Optimization of Eggshell Calcium Use for Improving the Physical Quality of Whey Protein Isolate-based Edible Films [PDF]
Edible films based on biopolymers are increasingly popular as environmentally friendly and functional food packaging alternatives. One approach to improving the physical properties of edible films is by incorporating calcium derived from eggshell waste ...
