Genetic and phylogenetic analysis of the core proteins VP1, VP3, VP4, VP6 and VP7 of epizootic haemorrhagic disease virus (EHDV).

open access: yesVirus Research, 2009
The core proteins of epizootic haemorrhagic disease virus (EHDV) have important roles to perform in maintaining the structure and function of the virus. A complete genetic and phylogenetic analysis was therefore performed on these proteins (and the genes that code for them) to allow comparison of the selective pressures acting on each.

EHDV-1, a new Australian serotype of epizootic haemorrhagic disease virus isolated from sentinel cattle in the Northern Territory.

open access: yesVeterinary Microbiology, 1997
In 1992, a virus (DPP2209) isolated from sentinel cattle located at Coastal Plains Research Station, latitude 12 degrees 39'S, longitude 131 degrees 20'E, approximately 60 km east of Darwin, Northern Territory. This virus was identified as a serotype of epizootic haemorrhagic disease (EHD) of deer virus previously undescribed in Australia.

Virus Neutralization Test for Detecting and Quantifying Serum-Neutralizing Antibodies to Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (EHDV) (Serotypes 1, 2, and 4-8).

Methods in molecular biology
The virus neutralization test (VNT) is a functional immunoassay which detects the presence and quantity of neutralizing antibodies. It is a highly sensitive and specific test. As with most neutralization assays, the EHDV VNT does not react with all virus-targeting antibodies, but specifically with those antibodies that bind to VP2, the outermost capsid

The association of winds with the spread of EHDV in dairy cattle in Israel during an outbreak in 2006.

Preventive Veterinary Medicine, 2010
Winds may play a major role in spread of arthropod-borne viruses (arboviruses). Arboviruses like epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus (EHDV), bluetongue virus and bovine ephemeral fever virus (BEFV) frequently cause major outbreaks in Israel with a unique pattern of spread.

Application of molecular biological techniques for detection of epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus (EHDV-318) recovered from a sentinel calf in central Sudan.

Veterinary Microbiology, 1996
Epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus (EHDV), isolate 318 (EHDV-318), an untyped virus recovered from a sentinel calf herd at the Khartoum University farm in central Sudan, was characterized using molecular biological techniques. With dot blot hybridization technique, a cDNA probe derived from genome segment 6 of EHDV-2 (Alberta strain) hybridized with ...

Characterisation of monoclonal antibodies to epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus of deer (EHDV) and bluetongue virus by immunisation of mice with EHDV recombinant VP7 antigen.

Research in Veterinary Science, 1999
Immunisation of mice with recombinant VP7 antigen of epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus of deer (EHDV) induced serum antibody responses to EHDV. However, from the 19 monoclonal antibodies (Mab) produced from these mice, 15 were specific for EHDV and four for bluetongue virus (BTV).

Serological evidence of epizootic hemorrhagic disease and serotypes of epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus in Pakistan.

Acta Tropica
This study investigated seroprevalence and serotypes of Epizootic hemorrhagic disease virus (EHDV) in ruminants in North-Western Pakistan. A total of 616 serum samples were tested for the presence of antibodies against EHDV and neutralizing antibodies ...
