International audienceEquine herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1) replicates extensively in the epithelium of the upper respiratory tract, after which it can spread throughout the body via a cell-associated viremia in mononuclear leukocytes reaching the pregnant ...

The salient features of the design and construction of an analog computer for the study of HV-dc transmission systems are described. The special modeling techniques which permitted a relatively low power base simulator which could be interconnected with the ac Transient Network Analyzer are outlined.

EHV Application of Autotransformers
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1967The universal method of voltage transformation from EHV levels to lower voltage systems is through the use of the autotransformer. The characteristic of the autotransformer is profoundly influenced by the tertiary winding or the lack of it. This paper discusses the influence of the tertiary winding and its placement, fault magnitude and short circuit ...

Clinical Techniques in Equine Practice, 2006
Although myeloencehalopathy due to Equine Herpesvirus-1 occurs infrequently, multiple horses may be affected during an outbreak and mortality may be high. In January of 2003, six horses from a large outbreak of EHV-1 respiratory and neurological disease were referred to The Ohio State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital for treatment of ...

Substation maintenance is a process of periodic, planned inspection of and, if necessary, repair, and replacement of all switchgear, buildings, and ancillary equipment in substation installations. In simple terms, substation maintenance is a regimen of regular preventative checks and actions carried out to ensure substations are kept in good working ...

Equine herpesvirus type 1 (EHV-1) infection and vaccination with an inactivated EHV-1 vaccine
New Zealand Veterinary Journal, 1986Abstract Extract Madam:- We have been investigating episodes of severe respiratory disease in foals during their first year of life in the Waikato district of New Zealand. Most foals are affected at six to ten weeks of age and again at weaning time (4) and the problem has been especially severe on one stud, ten foals having died of respiratory disease ...

Corona-Loss Characteristics of EHV Transmission Lines Based on Project EHV Research
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1966Since 1960 the corona-loss characteristics of a variety of extra-high-voltage (EHV) transmission-line configurations have been under study at Project EHV [1], [2]. This paper presents results from the analysis of corona losses measured under all weather conditions experienced during 2?years of observation of single or bundled conductors at 500 or 700 ...

Experimental Investigations of the EHVE
2015As already mentioned in the Introduction, the experiment was carried out on a modified variant of the early version of the EHVE. Instead of a single, compact cylinder as the one depicted in Fig. 2.1, two parallel cylinders were applied.

Radio-Noise Levels of EHV Transmission Lines Based on Project EHV Research
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1966The results of three years of experimental and theoretical research on transmission-line radio noise at Project EHV are presented. Computer programs were developed to process the data on a statistical basis, and as output provide both histograms and regression analyses for four test configurations operated at the 500-and 700-kV levels.

Practical EHV reactor protection
2013 66th Annual Conference for Protective Relay Engineers, 2013Shunt reactors are applied to long, high-voltage transmission lines to offset the impact of line charging capacitance to prevent high voltage during lightly loaded conditions. Shunt reactors are becoming more prevalent associated with the construction of long transmission lines to connect remote wind energy sources to load centers.
