Wavelet‐Based Hurst Exponent Estimation
The review explores how wavelet‐based methods for estimating the Hurst parameters have developed from their theoretical roots to real‐world applications in fields like biology, engineering, and telecommunications. The review aims to highlight key techniques, compare their strengths and limitations, and point out challenges that still need to be ...

Eigenstructure of distance matrices with an equal distance subset [PDF]
We characterize the distance matrices with an equal distance subset in terms of eigenstructure and determine EDMs in this class by examination of a lower dimensional ...

Eigenstructure of eddy microfronts
Aircraft measurements of strong turbulence in a bora flow and in weak intermittent turbulence near the top of a nocturnal surface inversion layer are examined. An important feature of both types of turbulence are narrow zones of sharp gradients of velocity and temperature.

Real eigenstructure of regular simplex tensors
We are concerned with the eigenstructure of supersymmetric tensors. Like in the matrix case, normalized tensor eigenvectors are fixed points of the tensor power iteration map. However, unless the given tensor is orthogonally decomposable, some of these fixed points may be repelling and therefore be undetectable by any numerical scheme.

ABSTRACT Using information in returns, we identify the stochastic process of consumption. We find that aggregate consumption reacts over multiple quarters to innovations spanned by financial markets. This persistent component accounts for over a quarter of consumption variation. These shocks command a large and significant risk premium, driving a large

The Eigenstructure of Complex Symmetric Operators [PDF]
We discuss several algebraic and analytic aspects of the eigenstructure (si.e., eigenvalues, eigenvectors, and generalized eigenvectors) of complex symmetric operators. In particular, we examine the relationship between the bilinear form [x,y] = induced

Modal coupling in linear control systems using robust eigenstructure assignment [PDF]
Eigenvalue assignment methods are used widely in the design of control and state-estimation systems. The corresponding eigenvectors can be selected to ensure robustness.

Multistage Output-lifting Eigenstructure Assignment: A Multirate Ball and Plate Example [PDF]
By exploiting both the left and the right allowable subspaces in consecutive stages, this paper extends a recently developed output-lifting eigenstructure assignment approach into a multistage eigenstructure assignment scheme.

Estimation of Sound Source Number and Directions under a Multisource Reverberant Environment
Sound source localization is an important feature in robot audition. This work proposes a sound source number and directions estimation method under a multisource reverberant environment.

Composition of some positive linear integral operators
This article is devoted to constructing sequences of integral operators with the same Voronovskaja formula as the generalized Baskakov operators, but having different behavior in other respects.
