On the assignment of eigenvalues in LTI systems

Proceedings of the 38th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.99CH36304), 2003
In this paper we discuss the assignability of natural frequencies of linear time invariant (LTI) systems, given their Hankel singular values. This study is based on the work by Antoulas (1999).

Simultaneous decoupling and eigenvalue assignment

Proceedings of 1995 American Control Conference - ACC'95, 2005
A new method for simultaneous decoupling and assignment of eigenvalues of a linear square multivariable system is presented. Decoupling and pole-placement conditions are found in a structured way using the Faddeev-algorithm for computing adjoint matrices. The method allows pole-placement of all system poles in contrast to only those poles exceeding the

Feedforward controller design by eigenvalue assignment.

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1991
Active feedforward control algorithms have proved to be successful in the attenuation of stationary disturbances such as single, multiple frequencies, and random inputs. In feedforward control, the mean square value of a measurable response quantity induced by the disturbance input is minimized by coherent ‘‘secondary’’ control inputs.

Minimum norm partial quadratic eigenvalue assignment for vibrating structures using receptance method

Mechanical systems and signal processing, 2019
In this paper, we consider the minimum norm partial quadratic eigenvalue assignment problem (MNPQEAP) for multi-input vibration control systems. Our work is based on the recent paper proposed by Bai et al.

A measure for the decentralized assignability of eigenvalues

Systems & Control Letters, 1988
The results of \textit{R. Eising} [ibid. 4, 263-264 (1984; Zbl 0542.93007)] are generalized to produce a continuous measure of how `close' a mode is to being a decentralized fixed mode [see, \textit{S. H. Wang} and the second author, IEEE Trans. Autom. Control AC-18, 473-478 (1973; Zbl 0273.93047)]. Implications of this measure of controller design are

Eigenvalues Assignment with Sensitivity Minimization

1991 American Control Conference, 1991
In this note, a procedure to minimize the L 2 -norm of trajectory sensitivity functions and system input with closed-loop eigenvalues assignment is proposed. Considering FDLTI-MIMO systems, the freedom degrees in the state feedback matrix, for spectrum assignment, are used to derive necessary optimal conditions.

Minimum norm partial quadratic eigenvalue assignment for vibrating structures using receptances and system matrices

Mechanical systems and signal processing, 2018
This paper is concerned with the minimum norm partial quadratic eigenvalue assignment problem (MNPQEAP) for vibrating structures via active feedback control.

Matrix eigenvalue spectrum assignment for linear control systems by static output feedback

, 2021
For a linear time-invariant control system defined by a linear differential equation of the n-th order with a multidimensional state, input and output, we set and study the problem of arbitrary matrix eigenvalue spectrum assignment by linear static ...

The analysis of eigenvalue assignment robustness

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1995
The author shows that the results obtained recently in Wang and Lin (1992) are conservative. A new generalization which can overcome such conservatism is presented. >
