A regression and comparative study of United States and South African yield curves using principal component analysis

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Economic and Management Sciences, 2018
Volatile markets and economic environments can significantly distort the shape and smoothness of yield curve movements. This study explores the influence of movements in United States interest rates on South African interest rates.

Macroecologia de carnívoros do Novo Mundo (Mammalia): envelopes de restrição e análise de padrões filogenéticos Macroecology of New World carnivores: constraint envelopes and analysis of phylogenetic patterns

open access: yesIheringia: Série Zoologia, 2004
The relationship between body size and geographic range was analyzed for 70 species of terrestrial Carnivora ("fissipeds") of the New World, after the control of phylogenetic patterns in the data using phylogenetic eigenvector regression.

On Universal Eigenvalues and Eigenvectors of Hypermatrices [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
A cubic hypermatrix of order $d$ can be considered as a structure matrix of a tensor with covariant order $r$ and contra-variant order $s=d-r$. Corresponding to this matrix expression of the hypermatrix, an eigenvector $x$ with respect to an eigenvalue $\lambda$ is proposed, called the universal eigenvector and eigenvalue of the hypermatrix.

Partial eigenvalue assignment problem of linear control systems using orthogonality relations [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2006
The partial eigenvalue assignment is the problem of reassigning a part of the open-loop spectrum of a linear system by a feedback control, leaving the rest of the spectrum invariant.

Elements of dynamic parameters modification and sensitivity [PDF]

open access: yesFME Transactions, 2013
Structural modifications can cause changes in the matrices of some elements. Depending on the type of structure, or a desired change, a group of elements can be modified.

A New Fixed Point Result of Perov Type and Its Application to a Semilinear Operator System

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In this paper, we present a new generalization of the Perov fixed point theorem on vector-valued metric space. Moreover, to show the significance of our result, we present both a nontrivial comparative example and an application to a kind of semilinear ...

Localization and universality of eigenvectors in directed random graphs [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Lett. 126, 040604 (2021), 2020
Although the spectral properties of random graphs have been a long-standing focus of network theory, the properties of right eigenvectors of directed graphs have so far eluded an exact analytic treatment. We present a general theory for the statistics of the right eigenvector components in directed random graphs with a prescribed degree distribution ...

Dependence of Supertropical Eigenspaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We study the pathology that causes tropical eigenspaces of distinct supertropical eigenvalues of a nonsingular matrix $A$, to be dependent. We show that in lower dimensions the eigenvectors of distinct eigenvalues are independent, as desired.

A First Approach to Quantum Logical Shape Classification Framework

open access: yesMathematics
Quantum logic is a well-structured theory, which has recently received some attention because of its fundamental relation to quantum computing. However, the complex foundation of quantum logic borrowing concepts from different branches of mathematics as ...

Eigenvector dreaming

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Mechanics: Theory and Experiment
Abstract Among the performance-enhancing procedures for Hopfield-type networks that implement associative memory, Hebbian unlearning (HU) (or dreaming) strikes for its simplicity and lucid biological interpretation. However, it does not easily lend to a clear analytical understanding.
