Measuring brain beats: Cardiac‐aligned fast functional magnetic resonance imaging signals
Blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pulse and flow throughout the brain, driven by the cardiac cycle. We use rapid functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) measurements to assess blood and CSF flow dynamics in a conventional 3 T magnetic resonance imaging scanner.

A Note on Surgical Eigenstructure Assignment via State Feedback [PDF]
Assignability of all eigenvalues and a subset of key eigenvectors/generalized eigenvectors of a linear time-invariant system via state feedback is considered. We clarify that, if the key eigenvectors/generalized eigenvectors and their associated eigenvalues satisfy the classical conditions for full eigenstructure assignment, the remaining eigenvalues ...

Tunable Polariton Rabi Oscillation in Phase‐Changing Perovskite Microcavities
This work demonstrated the tunable Rabi oscillation of exciton‐polaritons in MAPbBr3 perovskites due to the emergence of ferroelectricity during the crystallographic phase transition. Both the Rabi oscillation and exciton oscillator strength exhibit an unusual temperature dependence that is related to the emergence of ferroelectricity in the tetragonal

Spectra of chains connected to complete graphs [PDF]
We characterize the spectrum of the Laplacian of graphs composed of one or two finite or infinite chains connected to a complete graph. We show the existence of localized eigenvectors of two types, eigenvectors that vanish exactly outside the complete graph and eigenvectors that decrease exponentially outside the complete graph.

State monitoring is very important for the safe operation of high-voltage transformers. A non-contact vibro-acoustic detection method based on the Blind Source Separation (BSS) was proposed in this paper to promote the development of transformer on-line ...

Eigenvector localization in the heavy-tailed random conductance model [PDF]
We generalize our former localization result about the principal Dirichlet eigenvector of the i.i.d. heavy-tailed random conductance Laplacian to the first $k$ eigenvectors. We overcome the complication that the higher eigenvectors have fluctuating signs by invoking the Bauer-Fike theorem to show that the $k$th eigenvector is close to the principal ...

Eigenvectors in bottleneck algebra
AbstractLet (B, ⩽) be a nonempty, linearly ordered set without maximum and minimum, and (⊕, ⊗) = (max, min). A vector x is said to be an eigenvector of a square matrix A if A ⊗ x = x. The aim of the present paper is to characterize the eigenvectors by means of the associated graph of the matrix and to give bounds for the set of all eigenvectors.

A multi‐parameter‐tunable, all‐metallic, low‐loss, wave‐chaotic cavity enables a frequency‐insensitive (over a 7 GHz bandwidth) technique to synthesize desired transfer functions within smaller windows to high accuracy and with complete reconfigurability of shapes and center frequencies.
