Knotted solutions of the eikonal equation
We investigate topologically non-trivial solutions of the eikonal equation in three-dimensional space. By introducing an effective vector potential, one can define an associated helicity analogous to that of electromagnetic fields. Using the Hopf map, we construct knotted wavefronts of the Ranada type, showing that the eikonal equation admits solutions
