Toxicity of pesticides with fungicide and fungicide + insecticide effects to Eisenia andrei

open access: yesRevista Ambiente & Água, 2020
Pesticides are widely used in the agricultural sector to control and prevent pests and diseases. The use of these products can adversely affect non-target organisms that have a significant role in the soil, such as earthworms.

Pharmacological effects of bioactive agents in earthworm extract: A comprehensive review

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, Volume 7, Issue 5, Page 653-672, October 2024.
EE blocks platelet adhesion and activation at the site of vascular injury. After vascular injury, many subendothelial matrix proteins are exposed to blood, including von Willebrand factor (vWF), fibrillar collagens, fibronectin and laminin, which facilitate platelet adhesion by binding to specific receptors on platelets; vWF binds the platelet GPIb‐V ...

A Dirt(y) World in a Changing Climate: Importance of Heat Stress in the Risk Assessment of Pesticides for Soil Arthropods

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 30, Issue 10, October 2024.
In a world of climate change, increasing temperatures influence how pesticides act on soil arthropods. Here, we show that elevated temperature leads to higher internal concentrations of fluazinam (a fungicide) and its metabolites in a common springtail, causing higher toxicity.

Biodegradation and toxicological evaluation of lubricant oils

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2012
The aim of this work was to compare different toxicity levels of lubricant oils. The tests were performed using the earthworm (Eisenia andrei), arugula seeds (Eruca sativa) and lettuce seeds (Lactuca sativa), with three types of contaminants (mineral ...
