High‐Throughput Screening of REBCO Superconducting Thin Films Fabricated Via Combinatorial Inkjet Printing and TLAG Process

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A methodological framework is presented for combinatorial REBCO thin films fabricated by drop‐on‐demand inkjet printing with controlled Rare Earth composition gradients. Automated, synchrotron‐based, and local characterization techniques produce comprehensive property maps that correlate composition and TLAG process parameters with superconducting ...

Signs of magnetic accretion in young Be/X-ray pulsar SXP 1062

open access: yes, 2012
The spin behaviour of the neutron star in the newly discovered young Be/X-ray long-period pulsar SXP 1062 is discussed. The star is observed to rotate with the period of 1062s, and spin-down at the rate ~ - 2.6 \times 10^{-12} Hz s^{-1}.

Magnetic Textiles: A Review of Materials, Fabrication, Properties, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Magnetic textiles (M‐textiles) are emerging as a programmable materials platform that merges magnetic matter with hierarchical textile structures. This article consolidates magnetic material classes, textile architectures, and fabrication and magnetization strategies, revealing structure–property–function relationships that govern magneto‐mechanical ...

Review of ejector nozzles.Part 1 – Thrust augmenting ejector nozzles

open access: yesAerospace Technic and Technology
The subject of this article is ejector nozzles, which are intended for the thrust augmentation of jet engines. The goal of this study is to analyze the contradictions between technical requirements and the requirements of manufacturability and price, between the required high characteristics of ejectors and compactness, and between the conflicting ...

Secondary stream and excitation effects on two-dimensional nozzle plume characteristics [PDF]

open access: yes
In order to design two-dimensional nozzle/ejector systems for future high performance aircraft, the basic engine exhaust plume velocity and temperature decay as effected by the secondary stream (ejector) and decay augmentation means must be assessed ...

Evolution of isolated neutron stars till accretion. The role of initial magnetic field

open access: yes, 2010
We study evolution of isolated neutron stars on long time scale and calculate distribution of these sources in the main evolutionary stages: Ejector, Propeller, Accretor, and Georotator.

On–Off Switchable Micromotors for Use in Steerable Microvehicles

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Electrically controllable micromotors and microvehicles are developed by tuning the diffusion of the fuel. Self‐propelled micromotors using bubble propulsion show great promise for miniaturized devices with multiuse purposes such as cargo delivery and sensing. However, there is currently no method to electrically switch the micromotors on or off. Here,

Molecular Appendix Adjusted Architectural Propagations of Red‐Light Controlled Macroscopic Photoactuating Performances

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic chloroazobenzenes, bearing different amino acids as end groups alanine, phenylalanine, and valine, exhibit excellent photoisomerizations. Varying structures of three amino acid groups participate in supramolecular formations and therefore photoinduced morphological transformations via adjusting intermolecular interactions. These interaction
