CPX‐351 in High‐Risk Relapsed Pediatric Acute Leukemia: Real‐World Phase 1 Data Establishing the FDA‐Approved Dose

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Outcomes for pediatric relapsed/refractory (R/R) acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remain dismal. CPX‐351, a liposomal formulation of cytarabine and daunorubicin, may have less off‐target toxicities than traditional chemotherapies and has shown improved outcomes for adults with newly diagnosed therapy‐related AML.

Three-dimensional numerical study on the effect of radius of the equal-area mixing chamber on auxiliary entraining of the two-stage ejector

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2023
In this study, for the two-stage ejector under three inlet conditions of air-conditioning, refrigerating and freezing, a three-dimensional simulation is used to study the impact of the mixing chamber radius of the first and second stage on the minimum ...

Advancing Research on Biomaterials and Biological Materials with Scanning Electron Microscopy under Environmental and Low Vacuum Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) is discussed as a powerful extension of conventional SEM for life sciences. By combining high‐resolution imaging with variable pressure and humidity, ESEM allows the analysis of untreated biological materials, supports in situ monitoring of hydration‐driven changes, and advances the functional ...

ROSAT X-ray sources and exponential field decay in isolated neutron stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
In this paper we semianalyticaly evaluate influence of the exponential decay of magnetic field on the fate of isolated neutron stars. The fact of ROSAT observations of several X-ray sources, which can be accreting old isolated neutron stars gives us an ...

Reduction of Oxide Inclusions During the High‐Frequency Welding of Steel via a Nonthermal Ar/H2 Plasma Jet

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

Interface concerns of ejector integration in V/STOL aircraft [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
A number of areas which have in the past contributed to weight, complexity, and thrust losses in the ejector-powered V/STOL vehicle were identified. Most of these interfaces taken singly do not represent a severe compromise to the vehicle; however, the ...

On‐Demand Activation of Thin Alginate Shell Encapsulated Volatile Liquid for Untethered Pneumatic Soft Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐changing liquids enable untethered pneumatic actuation in soft robotics but suffer from volatility and storage challenges. This work reports a simple method to encapsulate Novec 7000 within micron‐thin alginate shells via in situ injection and ionic crosslinking.

Design and experimental study of a steam ejector refrigeration system

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2022
More and more attention has been paid to ejector refrigeration system using low grade thermal for cooling. Ejector is the most important part of this system, and its operating condition and structure are the two important parameters affecting system ...

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Experimental Investigation of the Steam Ejector in a Single-Effect Thermal Vapor Compression Desalination System Driven by a Low-Temperature Heat Source

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
The paper presents an experimental investigation of a steam ejector in a single-effect thermal vapor compression (S-TVC) desalination system driven by a low-temperature (below 100 °C) heat source.
