Professional perspectives on characteristics of legitimacy in court‐based mediation
Abstract In Norway, court‐based mediation involves judges, lawyers, and psychologists working as a mediation team to bring settlement and avoid litigation. This article reports from a qualitative study with twenty‐two judges, psychologists, and lawyers from four district courts.

On a nonhomogeneous quasilinear eigenvalue problem in Sobolev spaces with variable exponent [PDF]
We consider the nonlinear eigenvalue problem $-{\rm div}(|\nabla u|^{p(x)-2}\nabla u)=\lambda |u|^{q(x)-2}u$ in $\Omega$, $u=0$ on $\partial\Omega$, where $\Omega$ is a bounded open set in $\RR^N$ with smooth boundary and $p$, $q$ are continuous ...

A variational principle and its connection with fixed point theory
In this thesis, the following topics will be discussed; In chapter 2, a variational principle due to I. Ekeland (EVP) will be considered which deals with minimization of functions on a complete metric space; In chapter 3, the notion of completeness of a ...

Ekeland variational principle on weighted graphs
In this work, we give a graphical version of the Ekeland variational principle which enables us to discover a new version of the Caristi fixed point theorem in weighted digraphs not necessarily generated by a partial order. Then we show that both graphical versions of the Ekeland variational principle and Caristi’s fixed point theorem are equivalent ...

Time‐inconsistent contract theory
Abstract This paper investigates the moral hazard problem in finite horizon with both continuous and lump‐sum payments, involving a time‐inconsistent sophisticated agent and a standard utility maximizer principal: Building upon the so‐called dynamic programming approach in Cvitanić et al.

Stochastic singular optimal control problem of switching systems with constraints
This paper is devoted to the optimal control problem of switching system in which constraints on the state variable are given by inclusions. Using Ekeland’s variational principle, second-order necessary condition of optimality for stochastic switching ...

Abstract Background Healthy after‐school activities such as participation in organised sport have been shown to serve as important resources for reducing school failure and other problem/high‐risk behaviour. It remains to be established to what extent organised sport participation has positive impacts on young people in unstable life circumstances ...

On Inverse Function Theorems for Set-Valued Maps [PDF]
We prove several equivalent versions of the inverse function theorem: an inverse function theorem for smooth maps on closed subsets, one for set-valued maps, a generalized implicit function theorem for set-valued maps.

Robustness of multi-valued optimization problems via set relations (Study on Nonlinear Analysis and Convex Analysis) [PDF]
This paper focuses on the feasibility of multi-valued optimization problems under perturbations. By using set relations and their scalarization, a modified version of theorems of the alternative can characterize the robustness of the feasibility ...

Ekeland variational principles for vector equilibrium problems
This work concerns Ekeland variational principles for scalar and vector cyclically antimonotone bifunctions on complete metric spaces. The scalar results work for extended bifunctions and they are obtained by a generalized version of the Dancs–Hegedüs–Medvegyev's fixed point theorem.
