American Fern Journal, 1939
One of the common tropical American species has long been known under the name Elaphoglossum Lindenii (Bory) Moore, founded on Acrostichum Lindenii Bory ex Fee (1845). Recently, Christensen2 has taken up the name Elaphoglossum squamatum (Swartz) Moore for this species.

Ecology: —Fairly common; epiphytic and saxicolous, in humid forests, on rock faces, and on steep, grassy slopes, often in somewhat less humid habitats than the similar E. cuspidatum; 1000–3500 m.
