Using a Green's function approach, we investigate band structure effects in the BEEM current distribution in reciprocal space. In the elastic limit, this formalism provides a 'parameter free' solution to the BEEM problem.

The Curvature of Plane Elastic Curves
Abstract : In this paper plane elastic curves are revisited from a viewpoint that emphasizes curvature properties of these curves. The family of elastic curves is considered in dependence of a tension parameter Sigma and the squared global curvature maximum K2/m. It is shown that for any elastic curve K2/m is bigger than the tension parameter Sigma.

New Torsional Surface Elastic Waves in Cylindrical Metamaterial Waveguides for Sensing Applications
In this paper, we demonstrate that torsional surface elastic waves can propagate along the curved surface of a metamaterial elastic rod (cylinder) embedded in a conventional elastic medium.

Shape Analysis of Elastic Curves in Euclidean Spaces [PDF]
This paper introduces a square-root velocity (SRV) representation for analyzing shapes of curves in euclidean spaces under an elastic metric. In this SRV representation, the elastic metric simplifies to the IL(2) metric, the reparameterization group acts by isometries, and the space of unit length curves becomes the unit sphere.

Floquet Theory for Discontinuously Supported Waveguides
We apply Floquet theory of periodic coefficient second-order ODEs to an elastic waveguide. The waveguide is modeled as a uniform elastic string periodically supported by a discontinuous Winkler elastic foundation and, as a result, a Hill equation is ...

Whitney-Graustein Homotopy of Locally Convex Curves via a Curvature Flow [PDF]
Let $X_0, \widetilde{X}$ be two smooth, closed and locally convex curves in the plane with same winding number. A curvature flow with a nonlocal term is constructed to evolve $X_0$ into $\widetilde{X}$. It is proved that this flow exits globally, preserves both the local convexity and the elastic energy of the evolving curve.
