Quantifying dynamic traffic in Elastic Optical networks
This work is focused on the characterization of the traffic allocated in Elastic Optical backbone networks when different dynamic traffic profiles are generated. Extensive simulations are done to statistically model the real-time traffic carried by this kind of networks.

On the Filter Narrowing Issues in Elastic Optical Networks [PDF]
This paper describes the problematic filter narrowing effect in the context of next-generation elastic optical networks. First, three possible scenarios are introduced: the transition from an actual fixed-grid to a flexi-grid network, the generic full flexi-grid network, and a proposal for a filterless optical network.

Code rate optimization in elastic optical networks [PDF]
We combine adaptive coding with nonlinear impairment-aware routing and spectrum allocation problem in elastic optical networks. An integer linear program formulation and low-complexity heuristics are proposed. Results indicate that over 50% bandwidth reduction can be obtained due to code-rate optimization.

Soft Failure Localization in Elastic Optical Networks
Soft failure localization to early detect service level agreement violations is of paramount importance in elastic optical networks (EONs), while it allows anticipating possible hard failure events. Nowadays, effective and automated solutions for soft failure localization during lightpaths' commissioning testing and operation are still missing. In this

Rearrangeable and Repackable S-W-S Elastic Optical Networks for Connections with Limited Bandwidths
Elastic optical networks flexibly allocate bandwidth to a connection for improving utilization efficiency. The paper considers an optical node architecture that is similar to a three-stage Clos network for elastic optical networks.

Rearrangeability of 2×2 W-S-W Elastic Switching Fabrics with Two Connection Rates
The rearreangeable conditions for the 2×2 threestage switching fabric of a W-S-W architecture for elastic optical switches are considered in this paper. Analogies between the switching fabric considered and the three-stage Clos network are shown. On the
