Quantifying dynamic traffic in Elastic Optical networks
This work is focused on the characterization of the traffic allocated in Elastic Optical backbone networks when different dynamic traffic profiles are generated. Extensive simulations are done to statistically model the real-time traffic carried by this kind of networks.

IDEALIST control and service management solutions for dynamic and adaptive flexi-grid DWDM networks [PDF]
Wavelength Switched Optical Networks (WSON) were designed with the premise that all channels in a network have the same spectrum needs, based on the ITU-T DWDM grid.

On QoS-assured degraded provisioning in service-differentiated multi-layer elastic optical networks
The emergence of new network applications is driving network operators to not only fulfill dynamic bandwidth requirements, but offer various grades of service. Degraded provisioning provides an effective solution to flexibly allocate resources in various

EARLINET: towards an advanced sustainable European aerosol lidar network [PDF]
The European Aerosol Research Lidar Network, EARLINET, was founded in 2000 as a research project for establishing a quantitative, comprehensive, and statistically significant database for the horizontal, vertical, and temporal distribution of aerosols on

This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Performance Analysis of Automatic Hidden Ligthpaths in Multi-Layer Networks
The problem of resource provisioning in multi-layer networks is an important issue. We discuss and analyze resource provisioning in terms of the visibility of optical resources for the virtual layer in a network.

Soft Failure Localization in Elastic Optical Networks
Soft failure localization to early detect service level agreement violations is of paramount importance in elastic optical networks (EONs), while it allows anticipating possible hard failure events. Nowadays, effective and automated solutions for soft failure localization during lightpaths' commissioning testing and operation are still missing. In this

Cross section predictions for hydrostatic and explosive burning [PDF]
We review different models used for reactions involved in nuclear astrophysics. The reaction rate is defined for resonant as well as for non-resonant processes. For low-density nuclei, we describe the DWBA method, the potential model, the R-matrix method,

In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting
