Elasticity of perfused tissue

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2006
Elastic imaging intends to measure Young’s modulus (tissue stiffness) or bulk modulus (tissue compressibility) of tissue subjected to an applied strain of several percent. Underlying elastic imaging is the assumption of a linear stress/strain relationship without hysteresis or other time-dependent behavior.

TISSUE ELASTICITY MEASUREMENT

2019
A device (100, 1300) for measuring elasticity of a tissue of an object is disclosed. It comprises a base portion (602) comprising contact means (613) for contacting the tissue. It also comprises a palpation probe (600) for pushing down on the tissue comprising a palpation pen (601) for pushing down the tissue and a force measuring means (608, 1302) for

Elastic tissues in adenoid cystic carcinomas

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1974
Ten adenoid cystic carcinomas were examined for elastic tissues. The principal stain used was a Verhoeff's hematoxylin, alcian blue, chlorantine fast red sequence. Eight of the lesions contained detectable amounts of elastic tissue and, of these, six contained relatively dense and extensive deposits.

Elastic Connective Tissue or Elastic Ligaments

1985
The major elements of the elastic connective tissue (yellow ligaments) are the densely packed elastic fibers. The strongest elastic ligament is the ligamentum nuchae (Fig. A1) of ungulates, from which the heavy head of these animals “hangs.” In humans, elastic connective tissue is less widely distributed; it occurs largely as the ligamenta flava (Fig ...

Elastic models of vocal fold tissues

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1991
Elastic properties of canine vocal fold tissue (muscle and mucosa) were obtained through a series of experiments conducted in vitro and were modeled mathematically. The elastic properties play a significant role in quantitative analysis of vocal fold vibrations and theory of pitch control.

Elastic tissue in scars and alopecia

Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 2000
A recent report suggests that elastic fibers appear in scars in a time‐dependent fashion. This observation prompted our investigation, because we have found elastic tissue stains helpful in determining the pattern of scarring in cases of permanent alopecia.

Dermal Elastic Tissue Diseases

2018
Defects of dermal elastic fibers are relatively uncommon. This chapter touches upon disseminated elastosis perforans serpiginosa, papular elastorrhexis, congenital cutis laxa, cutis laxa, blepharochalasis, pseudoxanthoma elasticum, cutis hyperelastica complicated by the abnormity in immunoassay, giant connective tissue nevus, eruptive collagenoma ...

Elastic tissues of the intervertebral disc

Biochemical Society Transactions, 2002
Elastic fibres have been generally considered to play no significant role in the mechanical functioning of the intervertebral disc since earlier studies reported that the elastic fibre network was sparse and irregular. However, a recent study has reported that the network is highly organized and that the distribution and orientation of elastic fibres ...

Cartilaginous Tissue. Elastic Cartilage

1985
In elastic cartilage, as in hyaline cartilage, lymphatic and blood vessels (1) are found exclusively in the perichondrium (2). Collagen microfibrils (3) can be seen in the glassy cartilage matrix between the peripheral, flattened cells (4).
