Synthetic seismograms for elastic and anelastic half-spaces
Applied Numerical Mathematics, 1993The author presents a numerical method to evaluate the Fourier-Bessel integral that appears in the study of elastic waves in vertically inhomogeneous elastic or visco-elastic half-space. The improper double integral involves oscillatory and discontinuous integrand possessing a simple pole on the path of integration.

Elastic and anelastic properties of SiC/Si ecoceramics
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2006Abstract The paper represents an acoustic investigation of elastic and anelastic properties of a new class of materials produced with natural (wood) products—biomorphic SiC/Si (bio-SiC/Si) ceramics. Specimens were fabricated by melt Si infiltration in a carbon bio-matrix after the wood (white eucalyptus) templates pyrolysis.

Elastic and anelastic properties of Marval 18 steel
Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2000Marval 18 is a precipitation hardened steel with particularly high hardness and low creep, presently used for constructing parts of the interferometers for the detection of gravitational waves in the experiments VIRGO and LIGO. The elastic moduli have been measured in samples subjected to the same treatments as the parts of the interferometer VIRGO. In

Elastic and Anelastic Behavior of TBCs Sprayed at High-Deposition Rates
Journal of Thermal Spray Technology, 2014Abstract This study investigates the effect of high deposition rates and temperatures on the formation of vertical segmentation cracks in thermal barrier coatings. YSZ layers were deposited by atmospheric plasma spraying using different powder feed rates, raster speeds, and spraying distances.

Elastic and Anelastic Behavior of V2O5·P2O5 Glasses
Journal of Applied Physics, 1969The internal friction of several compositions of V2O5·P2O5 glasses has been measured in the kHz region from 100° to 400°K. A relaxation peak strongly dependent upon composition exists below room temperature in these glasses. The activation energies of the peaks lie between 0.1 and 0.2 eV.

Application of Similarity to Anelasticity
Nature, 1949KE1 has shown that, when the internal friction and relaxation of rigidity for very pure aluminium are measured as functions of grain size (D), temperature (T) and frequency of vibration (ω), the effects of these three variables can be stated in terms of a single parameter : where H is an activation energy of 32,000 cal./mol.
