Synthetic Aperture Focusing Technique and Contrast Source Inversion Algorithm Applied in Elastic Wave Imaging

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
In this paper the linear synthetic aperture focusing technique (SAFT), the nonlinear contrast source inversion (CSI) algorithm and the CSI algorithm with extended approaches, such as frequency approach and regularization approach, are applied to reconstruct a complicated target immersed in water from the experimental elastic wave data.

3D imaging of light elements using elastic scattering coincidence technique

2008
We describe setup for elastic scattering coincidence technique at the Zagreb microprobe. It is developed for 3-dimensional profiling of small concentration of light elements in heavier matrices. The method is based on the elastic scattering coincidence technique.

3-D Elastic Matching Technique for Temporal Subtraction Employing Thorax MDCT Images

2007
Detection of subtle lesions on CT images is a difficult task for radiologists, because subtle shadows tend to have low contrast, and a large number of CT images must be interpreted in a limited time. A temporal subtraction image, which is obtained by subtraction of a previous image from a current one, can be used for enhancing interval changes (such as

TH‐B‐351‐01: Elastography — Real‐Time Ultrasound Elasticity Imaging Technique

Medical Physics, 2008
Ultrasound elasticity imaging or elastography is real‐time imaging technique capable of determining tissue elasticity of certain organs such as breast and prostate. Elasticity imaging, applied during standard ultrasound examinations, is a patient‐friendly, reliable and cost‐efficient method to diagnose cancer or other diseases based on the changes in ...

A localised elastic net technique for lung boundary extraction from magnetic resonance images

Fifth International Conference on Artificial Neural Networks, 1997
This paper is concerned with the key process of segmentation of the input image and/or extraction of desired features. In computer vision systems, with particular application to segmenting the human lung boundaries from magnetic resonance images of human torsos.

Probabilistic Characterization of Elastic Properties of Composites Using Digital Image Correlation Technique

Reliability assessment of composite structures requires probabilistic description of material properties including high-fidelity evaluation of their main statistical parameters. With respect to composite materials, the probabilistic description should capture anisotropy of random elastic properties and their possible statistical correlations. A general

A composite imaging technique for high frame-rate and full-view cardiovascular ultrasound and elasticity imaging

2012
The frame-rate of ultrasound radio-frequency (RF) data acquisition is critical for imaging of the pulse wave and electromechanical wave propagation in cardiovascular tissues as well as improving the strain estimation. Therefore, an automated method had been developed to overcome the frame-rate limitations on standard systems by retrospective multi ...

Burgers vector determination of dislocations in an elastically anisotropic crystal by high-order reflection imaging technique in a HVEM

Philosophical Magazine A, 1984
Abstract Dislocations in β-CuZn have been examined by weak-beam imaging and by high-order reflection imaging in a HVEM. It has been shown that under these imaging conditions the conventional invisibility criterion g·b = 0 is valid, even in such an anisotropic crystal as β-CuZn.
