A localised elastic net technique for lung boundary extraction from magnetic resonance images
Fifth International Conference on Artificial Neural Networks, 1997This paper is concerned with the key process of segmentation of the input image and/or extraction of desired features. In computer vision systems, with particular application to segmenting the human lung boundaries from magnetic resonance images of human torsos.

Reliability assessment of composite structures requires probabilistic description of material properties including high-fidelity evaluation of their main statistical parameters. With respect to composite materials, the probabilistic description should capture anisotropy of random elastic properties and their possible statistical correlations. A general

The frame-rate of ultrasound radio-frequency (RF) data acquisition is critical for imaging of the pulse wave and electromechanical wave propagation in cardiovascular tissues as well as improving the strain estimation. Therefore, an automated method had been developed to overcome the frame-rate limitations on standard systems by retrospective multi ...

Abstract Dislocations in β-CuZn have been examined by weak-beam imaging and by high-order reflection imaging in a HVEM. It has been shown that under these imaging conditions the conventional invisibility criterion g·b = 0 is valid, even in such an anisotropic crystal as β-CuZn.
