Elasto-plastic bending of a beam

2014
В статье для уравнений, описывающих изгиб консоли, строятся законы сохранения специального вида, позволяющие в аналитическом виде находить упруго-пластическую ...

Application of Elasto-Plastic Analysis to Tunnelling

2001
Some applications are presented of the elasto-plastic and visco-plastic stress analysis to tunnelling problems. First, the closed form solution is recalled of the so-called “characteristic line” of a circular opening, which is frequently adopted for a simplified evaluation of the load acting on the lining of deep tunnels.

Elasto-plastic Bending

1983
The subject of elasto-plastic bending of beams, columns, frames and other complex structures has generated a considerable volume of specialised literature, the review of which is outside the scope of this book. However, to gain an appreciation of the range of topics covered and the ways in which they are approached, we shall consider a selection of ...

Elasto-Plastic Finite Element Simulations

2014
The continuum mechanics basics for plasticity, i.e. the yield condition, the flow rule, the hardening law, and the elasto-plastic modulus, for the one-dimensional rod will be used to describe the elasto-plastic behavior for monotonic and cyclic loading.

Theory and Numerics of Elasto-plasticity

2014
In case of ductile materials like steel for which this theory is developed it is assumed that the behaviour is linearly elastic until reaching are certain stress, the yield strength σ y . It is described by Hooke’s law, thus by Young’s modulus E and Poisson’s ratio ν. This holds strictly speaking for materials with a distinct yield strength like in Fig.

On finite deformation elasto-plasticity

International Journal of Solids and Structures, 1982
Lee (1969) has proposed a theory based on the decomposition of the total deformation gradient to an elastic and plastic part, and from it has concluded that the additive decomposition of the strain rates holds only approximately. Lubarda and Lee (1981) have declared that Lee's 'exact finite-deformation kinematics shows the almost universal assumption ...

Elasto-Plastic Material Behavior

2015
This chapter introduces first the basic equations of plasticity theory. The yield condition, the flow rule, and the hardening rule are introduced. After deriving and presenting these equations for the one-dimensional stress and strain state, the equations are generalized for a three-dimensional state in the scope of the von Mises and Tresca yield ...

Finite-strain elasto-plasticity

2000
In this chapter, the infinitesimal theory of elasto-plasticity of Chap. 12 is generalized to finite strains. Two formulations are presented. The first one is based on a multiplicative decomposition of the deformation gradient into elastic and plastic parts and on hyperelastic stress-strain relations.
