Elasto-plastic analysis of functionally graded metal-ceramic beams under mechanical loading

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 2017
The elasto-plastic analysis of functionally graded (FG) metal-ceramic beams under mechanical loading by using the finite element method is presented. A bilinear stress-strain relation with isotropic hardening is assumed for elasto-plastic behaviour of ...

Influence of the hardening characteristics of material on the critical load in the elasto-plastic stability problem of conical shells

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 2006
In this paper by using the theory of elasto-plastic processes and adjacent equilibrium criterion the governing equations of the elasto-plastic stability problem of conical shells are derived.

Elasto-plastic progressive collapse analysis based on the integration of the equations of motion

open access: yesMagazine of Civil Engineering, 2021
This paper considers the progressive collapse analysis of reinforced concrete structures based on the sudden removal of a load-bearing structural element and simulation of the dynamic structural behavior, taking into account the elasto-plastic properties

Experimental conditions affecting the measured fracture toughness at the microscale: Notch geometry and crack extension measurement

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2020
Experimental fracture mechanics at the microscale became an indispensable tool for understanding and developing advanced material systems. In case of linear elastic fracture mechanics, stringent requirements are typically only warranted for very brittle ...

Performance of the Evolutionary Structural Optimization for Material with Elasto-Plastic Behavior [PDF]

open access: yesمجله مدل سازی در مهندسی, 2017
Topology optimization methods enable designers to find the best structural layout for required structural performances. Most papers in this area have been concerned with the optimization of structures with linear material.

Low Cycle Repetitive Loading of Ti‐6Al‐4V‐Epoxy Composite Lattice Structures for Enhanced Energy Dissipation and Damage Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Composite Ti–6Al–4V–epoxy lattice structures are additively manufactured and epoxy infiltrated for cyclic loading. At low lattice volume fractions, hybridization produces synergistic gains in stiffness and energy dissipation. At higher volume fractions, synergy diminishes, although composites still exceed metallic lattices in specific energy ...

Homogenization in elasto-plasticity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The theory of the two-scale convergence was applied to homogenization of elasto-plastic composites with a periodic structure and exponential hardening law. The theory is based on the fact that the elastic as well as the plastic part of the stress field two-scale converges to a limit, which is factorized by parts, depending only on macroscopic ...

Data‐Driven Bulldozer Blade Control for Autonomous Terrain Leveling

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A simulation‐driven framework for autonomous bulldozer leveling is presented, combining high‐fidelity terramechanics simulation with a neural‐network‐based reduced‐order model. Gradient‐based optimization enables efficient, low‐level blade control that balances leveling quality and operation time.

Hierarchical Ordering Induced Ultrahigh Cryogenic Strength and Strain Hardening in a Ni2CoFeV Medium‐Entropy Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A tri‐phase Ni2CoFeV medium‐entropy alloy with fcc, κ, and L12 phases achieves exceptional cryogenic strength‐ductility synergy at 77 K. It delivers a yield strength of 1.4 GPa, an ultimate tensile strength of 2.07 GPa and a tensile ductility of 28%.
