Elastoplastic Stability and Failure Analysis of FGM Plate with Temperature Dependent Material Properties under Thermomechanical Loading

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
The present paper explores the stability and failure response of elastoplastic Ni/Al2O3 functionally graded plate under thermomechanical load using non-linear finite element formulation based on first-order shear deformation theory and von-Karman’s ...

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 17, 9 September 2026.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

An Experimental Method for Capturing Cyclic Deformation with Large Elastoplastic Strain Exceeding ±50% in Structural Steel

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 9, Issue 2-3, Page 2677-2681, September 2026.
Abstract Cyclic deformation with large elastoplastic strain appears in the ultimate behavior of steel structures during earthquakes. Accurate fracture simulation of structural steel components under large deformation is therefore critical for ensuring structural reliability and safety.

Elastoplastic Analysis by the Integral Equation Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
A method of numerical elastoplastic analysis is presented and several two and three dimensional examples are given. The elastoplastic velocity field is represented in simple layer and differentiated volume potentials. The boundary condition and flow rule

Time‐Dependent Settlement Model for Driven Piles Using Hybrid Finite Element‐Artificial Neural Network and Regression Approaches

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
This study investigates time‐dependent settlement of pile foundations. A hybrid framework combining Artificial Neural Networks and Finite Element Modeling was developed to derive an empirical equation for the pile‐soil system stiffness evolution over time. The model was validated and calibrated using laboratory test data.

Repeatability and Parasitic Out‐of‐Plane Motion in Controlled Rocking Structures With Cylindrical Columns: Results From Triaxial Shake Table Tests

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 55, Issue 11, Page 2930-2947, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Self‐centering rocking structures outperform conventional ones since they show zero post‐earthquake damage and excellent recentering; however, their applications remain limited due to concerns that rocking is extremely sensitive and nonrepeatable. This paper investigates the repeatability and parasitic out‐of‐plane motion of controlled rocking

Microscale FFT‐based modeling of artificial porous microstructures and analysis of macroscopic models under varying loading scenarios

open access: yesGAMM-Mitteilungen, Volume 49, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract This article investigates the modeling of metallic isotropic porous materials by evaluating and comparing macroscopic and microstructure‐resolved simulation approaches. At the macroscopic level, different variants of the Deshpande‐Fleck (DF) model are implemented to describe the elastoplastic behavior of metallic porous materials.
