Description of the Three Complete Mitochondrial Genomes of Click Beetles (Coleoptera, Elateridae) with Phylogenetic Implications

open access: yesTaxonomy, 2023
The family Elateridae, known as click beetles, is a mega-diverse lineage of Coleoptera. Wireworms are the larval stage of click beetles, which are generalist herbivores and which are recognized as economically important pests of crops.

Neryl decanoate: female sex pheromone of the click beetle Dalopius marginatus

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 170, Issue 4, Page 339-343, April 2022., 2022
Dalopius marginatus (Coleoptera: Elateridae) is a very common click beetle species developing in forest soils over a large area, from Europe to East Siberia. In order to identify its sex pheromone, we investigated gland extracts of female beetles using coupled gas chromatography‐mass spectrometry (GC‐MS).

Coleoptera Larval Fauna Associated with Termite Nests (Isoptera) with Emphasis on the “Bioluminescent Termite Nests” from Central Brazil

open access: yesPsyche: A Journal of Entomology, Volume 2010, Issue 1, 2010., 2010
Beetle larvae that inhabit termite nests present modifications that allow them to cohabitate with the termites. Some are physogastric and bear special glands and different setae all over their bodies, whereas others are not physogastric. Both kinds of larvae may be termite predators. Some species usually live in the nest cabbage pan, feeding on organic

Phylogenomics‐based click‐beetle classification tackles multiple origins of phenotypic modifications

open access: yesSystematic Entomology, Volume 51, Issue 1, January‐March 2026.
Using a concatenated dataset consisting of new genomic data from 73 species across 40 click‐beetle tribes and an earlier published, smaller dataset, we conducted the first 4200‐ortholog study targeting the phylogeny of Elateridae with the highest resolution to date.
