Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, 1987To examine the content of care that elderly patients receive from physicians 5.65 years of age, data from the 1981 National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey were analyzed. Compared to physicians aged 35 to 54 years, elderly physicians devoted a larger proportion of their practices to the care of elderly patients.

Cholecystectomy in elderly patients
The American Journal of Surgery, 1983Cholecystectomy was performed in 93 patients over the age of 70 years with an overall mortality of 7.5 percent. Complications occurred in 28 percent. Patients who underwent elective operations fared far better than those who required emergency surgery.
