The potential of industrial waste: Electric arc furnace slag (EAF) as recycled road construction materials

open access: yesConstruction and Building Materials, 2023
This research aims to obtain insights into the expansion catalyzation mechanisms of (i) water at room temperature and 80 °C, and (ii) acetic acid on the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) slag before use as aggregates in road materials. The volume expansions of the EAF slag after soaking under various conditions were investigated.

Leaching Kinetics of Iron from Electric Arc Furnace Slag (EAFS)

AIJR Proceedings, 2022
The steelmaking process produces a substantial amount of electric arc furnace slag (EAFS). Therefore, this present study conducted acid leaching, with and without the use of oxidants such as hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and potassium permanganate (KMnO4), to increase the amount of iron (Fe) recovered from the EAFS.
